Selective Tours and GTANSW Scholarships

Selective Tours specializes tailor made school trips to meet each school's learning outcome and budget.

Selective Tours and GTANSW & ACT are offering TWO scholarships for teachers who are in a school where there is only ONE or NO trained Geographer teacher.

The scholarships will cover the main costs of attending the 2019 Annual Conference at ANZ Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park, April 1 and 2 to the values of $1000 each. The scholarship will provide 2 days registration at $500 with the remainder to cover accommodation and/or travel costs. Accommodation and travel expenses to the value of $500 will be reimbursed immediately once receipts are provided. Other expenses to attend the event will be covered by the teacher or the school such as casual relief, non-conference meals and social events.

Scholarships are available only to teachers from member schools or individual GTANSW & ACT members. You will need the membership number and a referee from your school to support your application. You must be employed full-time and teaching Geography in 2019.

Applications will be shortlisted and determined by Vice-Presidents of GTA NSW. Winners will be notified with the exception of full day drone program, She Maps drone workshop and GIS in Geography Immersion day which have limited numbers.

It is a requirement of the scholarship process that recipients submit a classroom activity or teaching resource for publication in the GTANSW & ACT Geography Bulletin in 2019. This can be co-authored with another teacher. This could be fieldwork related.

Note: Successful applicants who have already registered will be reimbursed for the registration.
