Growing Geography

Thursday 16th and Friday 17th May 2024

Day 1: Geography 7-10

Day 1 is for Stage 5 Geography, and will consist of skills based workshops, strategic discussions and informative content across the 7-10.

Day 2: Planning for Stage 6 - Year 12

Day 2 is for Stage 6 Geography. It is an opportunity to discuss the implementation of Year 11 and share your early experiences. This session will be followed by an examination of the Year 12 Focus areas. Each focus area will be explained, key ideas highlighted and a guest speaker will support one aspect of each topic. Idea and resource sharing will follow.

- The Focus areas covered will be Global Sustainability, Ecosystems and Biodiversity and Rural and Urban Places. 

- The afternoon session will include a workshop for developing assessment and examination questions using stimulus material provided. The focus will be on unstructured extended response and short answer application of knowledge type questions, including questions that cover more than one content focus area. 

- Some exciting new resources will be shared on the day. 

- Guest presenters will be published shortly.
